Kanvas Beauty is making shopping for skincare simpler, saferand more inclusive
Choosing the perfect product for your skin doesn’t have be hard. Find out how we’re making the choice easier (and lowering the risk of adverse reactions) for you.
One of our pet peeves when we’ve purchased skincare in the past is the lack of transparency and inclusivity when it comes to how are products are classified. Sure, beauty retail has improved a lot over the years – descriptions are better, ingredient lists are more comprehensive and most retailers are now adding ‘clean’ and ‘vegan’ to their skincare filters. However, it still doesn’t tell us everything we want to know about a particular product. For instance, which hyperpigmentation treatments are suitable for dark skin? If I have rosacea, which exfoliants are considered safe for me to use? Which creams finish dewy and which ones are matte?Inclusivity is more than just a buzzwordKanvas Beauty was born from the idea that skincare is for everyone – therefore, the experience of purchasing beauty products should be made asinclusiveas possible. We’ve seen a lot of our competitors throw that word around, but what does that actually mean and what does it have to do with beauty? In short, we know that specific concerns can’t be addressed by the standard oily/dry/combination tropes. We also know pigmented skin responds differently to certain ingredients. On top of that, the condition of our skin and what we want out of our routine changes throughout our lives. It’s complicated, and that’s ok.We’re making some changes to help you make an informed choiceOn product pages, you’ll notice the below badges which tells you at a glance what this product is about.
our badges look like this
Clean* According to Kanvas Beauty. This product meets our definition of ‘clean’, meaning it does not contain parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, phthalates, triclosan, isothiazolinones, talc, PEGs, formaldehyde and silicones in its ingredients list.
These classifications are a result of the most common queries we received from you about skincare. You asked, we listened.
