let's recycle!

Yay—let's recycle! Here’s a quick guide for when you've finished using all your products:

1. Make the products 'recycle ready' by rinsing it out and cleaning it. What if the product doesn't work for me? Give it to someone who might like to try it! That way, you will minimise wastage and give the product a second home. ♡♡

2. Get the DETAILS! Typically, most skin care packaging is recyclable in Australia, but what can and can’t be recycled depends on where you live. A quick Google search will reveal a recycling guideline based on your state / territory.

3. Can I put this in my recycling bin? If you've checked and the answer is 'yes', give these items a second life and put them in the recycling bin. If it's not, look into enterprises like TerraCycle, to help you properly recycle your beauty products. If the product is recycable through TerraCycle, it is FREE and all you have to do is gather your empty products together, print a recycling label and ship it out - that’s it! They’ll take care of the rest for you.

FYI, recycling plants uses numbers ranging from 1 to 7 to help sort all the materials. PETE stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate and PP stands for Polypropylene — these are both plastics. PAP represents paper / mixed paper / cardboard. See Earth Easy to learn more about your plastics.

That's it babes! Remember to love our earth; love our planet! #dontbetrashy

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Dr Jart BB cream last?

Did you know Dr Jart+ was the originator of BB creams? That's right: BB creams are a uniquely Korean innovation, with the kudos going to Dr Jart. So you know you're in good hands when you buy one of their BB creams. Particularly on dry skin, the Dr Jart BB cream will bind well and last all day. Oilier skin may need to re-apply or freshen up in places after 6-8 hours.

What is the difference between BB cream and CC cream?

The difference between a BB cream and a CC cream is this: BB stands for Beauty Balm, while CC stands for Complexion Corrector. BB creams therefore, do it all: they can treat blemishes, nourish the skin, offer mild coverage, hydration and SPF protection. A CC Cream meanwhile, is more focused on evening out the skin tone and colour correcting. They tend to over better coverage than BB Creams (although not as much as a foundation), and unusually come in matte finishes (vs BB Creams' typically dewy formulas).

Can I use BB cream at night?

Because BB Creams generally offer a soft tint as well as UV filters, they are best worn during the day rather than at night. Of course, there are no rules - if you like the look and finish of your BB Cream, there's no reason you can't wear it for an evening out! With that said, it's primary use is for daytime wear.

Which BB cream is best for daily use?

BB Creams are usually lightweight formulas. Therefore, they are best for daily or frequent use and shouldn't clog or wear your skin dowe. The trick is to find the right one that suits you and your skin type. Dr Jart+'s BB Creams are good all-rounders, but don't offer much range in terms of skin shades: therefore, they are better for fair skin. Missha's BB Creams offer a good variety of fair to medium tones in a soft, glowy finish, while Purito's Cica Clearing BB Creams are the best option for sensitive skin of all shades. A clean, silicone-free and vegan alternative can be found in Lily Lolo's BB Creams (which also come in samples, so you can try before you buy). These feel like a second skin and additionally come in a variety of shades.

Should I use BB cream or foundation?

Whether you should use a BB Cream or a foundation really depend on what sort of coverage and finish you're looking for. For the gold standard in coverage (and less flashback in photos), it's hard to get past a solid foundation (particularly a mineral foundation if you're after more of a matte look). If you're after something moderate, a little bit of concealer with a BB Cream goes a long way. If coverage isn't a priority but you're more after that soft "air-brushed" look, just a BB Cream (on its own or mixed into your favourite sunscreen) will do the trick.

Does Dr Jart premium beauty balm bb cream feel greasy?

While Dr Jart's Premium Beauty Balm (BB) Cream has a dewy finish, but shouldn't feel greasy. It works best on dry and mature skin, with its range of ingredients (such as peptides and adenosine) geared towards anti-ageing concerns.

How does Dr Jart premium beauty balm bb improve skin texture?

Dr Jart's Premium Beauty Balm has plenty of skin-loving ingredients to improve skin texture: the formula includes peptides (to even out the skintone and improve hydration), arbutin (to counter hyperpigmentation) and adenosine (to treat fine lines). While it'll provide an instant "veiled" appearance, it should also treat underlying skin concerns such as dry patches and "crepey" skin.
