let's recycle!

Yay—let's recycle! Here’s a quick guide for when you've finished using all your products:

1. Make the products 'recycle ready' by rinsing it out and cleaning it. What if the product doesn't work for me? Give it to someone who might like to try it! That way, you will minimise wastage and give the product a second home. ♡♡

2. Get the DETAILS! Typically, most skin care packaging is recyclable in Australia, but what can and can’t be recycled depends on where you live. A quick Google search will reveal a recycling guideline based on your state / territory.

3. Can I put this in my recycling bin? If you've checked and the answer is 'yes', give these items a second life and put them in the recycling bin. If it's not, look into enterprises like TerraCycle, to help you properly recycle your beauty products. If the product is recycable through TerraCycle, it is FREE and all you have to do is gather your empty products together, print a recycling label and ship it out - that’s it! They’ll take care of the rest for you.

FYI, recycling plants uses numbers ranging from 1 to 7 to help sort all the materials. PETE stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate and PP stands for Polypropylene — these are both plastics. PAP represents paper / mixed paper / cardboard. See Earth Easy to learn more about your plastics.

That's it babes! Remember to love our earth; love our planet! #dontbetrashy

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Acure an Australian brand?

Acure is not an Australian brand - it actually hails from the United States. Founded back in 2010 by Kristy Guerra, its products are based on the maxim that it's not enough for cosmetics to be natural: they also have to work.

What does the Acure Resurfacing Inter-gly-lactic Shimmer Serum do?

Acure's Resurfacing Inter-Gly-Lactic Shimmer Serum is essentially an AHA serum containing lactic and glycolic acid. Used after cleansing and toning in the evenings, it'll help gently exfoliate and counter hyperpigmentation, leaving you looking like a glazed donut. As usual with any AHA treatment, always follow with a rich moisturizer, barrier cream and/or facial oil to protect your skin!

What does a resurfacing serum do?

A resurfacing serum is a leave-on, chemical exfoliation treatment. Pleasant to apply and generally gentle enough for most skin types, it quickly dries, and is meant to be followed with a moisturizer.

How often should you use a resurfacing serum?

You don't need to use a resurfacing serum often to see results. Even if your skin can handle it, we recommend using any AHA product only a couple of times a week to keep your skin barrier in good nick. If you have very sensitive skin, try it once a fortnight or switch to a low-concentration mandelic acid serum instead.

Do you wash off resurfacing serum?

There is no need to wash off a resurfacing serum. The beauty of a chemical exfoliant serum is that it is a leave-on treatment, isn't messy like a scrub, and doesn't need to be rinsed off. Just apply a thin layer, and follow with the rest of your skincare routine.

Are all Acure products organic?

Acure is a vegan and cruelty-free brand that uses certified organic ingredients in many of its formulas. A pioneer in the clean beauty space, you won't find any parabens, sulfates, phthalates or mineral oils here.
