let's recycle!

Yay—let's recycle! Here’s a quick guide for when you've finished using all your products:

1. Make the products 'recycle ready' by rinsing it out and cleaning it. What if the product doesn't work for me? Give it to someone who might like to try it! That way, you will minimise wastage and give the product a second home. ♡♡

2. Get the DETAILS! Typically, most skin care packaging is recyclable in Australia, but what can and can’t be recycled depends on where you live. A quick Google search will reveal a recycling guideline based on your state / territory.

3. Can I put this in my recycling bin? If you've checked and the answer is 'yes', give these items a second life and put them in the recycling bin. If it's not, look into enterprises like TerraCycle, to help you properly recycle your beauty products. If the product is recycable through TerraCycle, it is FREE and all you have to do is gather your empty products together, print a recycling label and ship it out - that’s it! They’ll take care of the rest for you.

FYI, recycling plants uses numbers ranging from 1 to 7 to help sort all the materials. PETE stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate and PP stands for Polypropylene — these are both plastics. PAP represents paper / mixed paper / cardboard. See Earth Easy to learn more about your plastics.

That's it babes! Remember to love our earth; love our planet! #dontbetrashy

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Dr Jart V7 Serum do?

Dr Jart's V7 Serum is essentially an antioxidant serum. It'll helps to protect your skin from environmental aggressors such as pollution and free radicals. These baddies can weaken the skin barrier, worsen hyperpigmentation and make skin more vulnerable to irritation. The V7 Serum is unique in that it also contains a PHA (gluconolactone), to gently exfoliate and brighten.

Is Dr Jart V7 Serum good for acne?

Dr Jart's V7 Serum can be a great choice for acne-prone skin. The PHA helps to clear dead skin and debris with minimal irritation, while niacinamide reduces the appearance of large pores and helps regulate excess sebum.

Which antioxidant is best for skin?

There are a huge range of antioxidants out there, and which antioxidant is the best for your skin really depends on your skin's needs and concerns. It can even change according to the season, climate and stress levels. Also, you don't need to isolate your skin to any one paticular antoxidant - you can take a range at a time.

When should antioxidants be used on skin?

You can use antioxidants on your skin any time of the day, depending on their function. An antioxidant such as vitamin C, for instance, is particularly effective at protecting your skin from free radicals and can even enhance the UV protection offered by your sunscreen. Vitamins B3 and B5 are excellent at soothing and repairing, making them a lovely addition to an evening routine as your skin enters recovery mode.

When should you use antioxidant serum?

There's no firm answer to when you should start using an antioxidant serum - but if your skin allows it, the earlier, the better. You can start using a gentle, tea-derived antixidant serum in your teens (which will also help counter teenage ancne), and move on to some of the more potent antioxidants such as Vitamin C and ferulic acid in your 20s.

What does antioxidant do for skin?

Antioxidants protect your skin from the effects of oxidisation (i.e. free radical exposure). Basically, oxidisation speeds up the ageing process. It can also cause blackheads! Hence, using an antioxidant serum that's rich in niacinamide or vitamin A (with the former in Dr Jart's V7 Serum) can be highly effective in reducing blackheads.

Should I use antioxidant serum at night?

You can use an antioxidant serum such as Dr Jart's V7 Serum at night as well as during the day. We would recommend both - the free radical protection will come in handy during the day, while the brightening and sensitivty-reducing and soothing effects of the antioxidant mix will continue to play out on your skin while you catch your zzz's.

Should I use an antioxidant serum?

Everyone can benefit from the use of an antioxidant serum! Whether it's brightening, soothing, hydrating, fighting fine lines or acne - there's an antioxidant serum out there to suit you and your skin concerns. Drop us a line and talk to us if you need some help deciding.
