let's recycle!

Yay—let's recycle! Here’s a quick guide for when you've finished using all your products:

1. Make the products 'recycle ready' by rinsing it out and cleaning it. What if the product doesn't work for me? Give it to someone who might like to try it! That way, you will minimise wastage and give the product a second home. ♡♡

2. Get the DETAILS! Typically, most skin care packaging is recyclable in Australia, but what can and can’t be recycled depends on where you live. A quick Google search will reveal a recycling guideline based on your state / territory.

3. Can I put this in my recycling bin? If you've checked and the answer is 'yes', give these items a second life and put them in the recycling bin. If it's not, look into enterprises like TerraCycle, to help you properly recycle your beauty products. If the product is recycable through TerraCycle, it is FREE and all you have to do is gather your empty products together, print a recycling label and ship it out - that’s it! They’ll take care of the rest for you.

FYI, recycling plants uses numbers ranging from 1 to 7 to help sort all the materials. PETE stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate and PP stands for Polypropylene — these are both plastics. PAP represents paper / mixed paper / cardboard. See Earth Easy to learn more about your plastics.

That's it babes! Remember to love our earth; love our planet! #dontbetrashy

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Mugwort Essence do?

Mugwort Essence is awesome on hormonal acne, redness, rosacea and even a patchy skintone. Sensitive skin will love its feel, and because it's an essence, it can be used after your toner to recharge your skin's moisturizer level before the application of any serums (or for an additional layer of moisture before your cream).

What does mugwort extract do for skin?

What can't mugwort extract do for your skin? Mugwort has strong anti-inflammatory properties, and research has shown it to be effective against skin conditions such as eczema, rosacea and even psoriasis. The K-Beauty world has long loved mugwort, although it is relatively new on the Western beauty scene. It's also said to be efective in calming and even helping to prevent hormonal acne.

How often should I use Mugwort Essence?

The Mugwort Essence is safe to be used twice daily on its own after cleansing and before moisturizing, or sandwiched beteen layers of toner and serum.

Can Mugwort Essence be used as toner?

You can use the Mugwort Essence as a toner - but most K-Beauty connoisseurs will tell you that your toner should be used to either correct your skin's pH after cleansing, or pick up any dirt and debris before an essence comes on the scene. That way, your skin can get the most out of its essence.

Is mugwort good for skin?

When it comes to skincare, mugwort is considered extremely safe and good for your skin. There is no concrete evidence showing it's harmful when applied topically.

Can mugwort be toxic?

Mugwort contains a substance called thujone, which can be toxic in large amounts - but this applies to ingesting mugwort rather than using it in skincare (which uses it in much smaller amounts). Mugwort is also sold in dietary pills and soaked as a tea - so perhaps consuming large amounts of this herb might not be the best. As for skincare, it's safe. It's like retinol and acids or your favourite moisturizer. It's safe to apply, but the rules change if you're going to eat it! Also, please don't eat your skincare, lol.

Is Mugwort Essence good for fungal acne?

The good news is that Mugwort Essence is good for fungal acne - because it only contains one very skin friendly ingredient: mugwort. There are no fermented ingredients (which can be a trigger for fungal acne) and mugwort can help to calm acne inflammation.
